Here we go!

Today marks the day I started my 24 day journey on Advocare.  After a weekend full of eating and the consumption of way too many sweets, I was definitely ready.  My body needs a serious detoxing!   Here’s just a “taste” of what entered my mouth this weekend…

Happy Birthday Babe!
Can't go wrong with Sprinkles!

Daily Supplements
Yesterday I spent a good few hours just prepping. My dining room table was taken over by boxes, baggies, recipes, charts, guides, sample menus, you name it!
Prepping Involved:
-weighing myself, taking measurements and taking before pictures (And don’t think for a second I will post my “before” picture.  Maybe if my “after” picture kicks butt I will)
-sorting and bagging supplements, shakes, drinks, etc. by day.
-going through recipes and pulling some to try
-creating the first 5 day meal plan including all snacks
-aisle shopping at Trader Joes and buying only the items on my list
-writing grocery list based on recipes and meal plan
-prepping, washing, cutting, bagging foods

The day did not start out as planned due to a sleepless night and stomach issues.  There was no way in hell I was about to down a fiber drink at 7am!  I tossed and turned in bed until 11am so just had to improvise my first day.  I prepped everything for a work day, but ended up not going in. It may have worked out better in the long run.

Yummy Ahi Tuna Salad
11:00  Spark drink (this is what you drink instead of coffee. It’s not bad at all)
11:30 2 Omegaplex (Omega-3 Fatty Acid Dietary Supplement), Fiber drink (pretty nasty but only have to down it for a few days. I just pretend I’m drinking really pulpy orange juice)
12:00  Ahi tuna salad (this one was iffy due to my stomach issues, but I really wanted to stick to my plan. Fortunately it sat ok!)
3:00 Apple with 2 tablespoons peanut butter
6:00 2 Omegaplex, chicken breast, broccolini, brown rice
8:45  Clean “Cookies”

Lots of water and one cup of tea!

I even got in a run!  I thought I’d just take the dogs for our usual 2 mile loop but I felt so good and it was nice to get out of the house so after 2 miles I dropped the dogs off and ran another 2.  Not sure if I burned as many calories as I would have in my spin class, but I’m pretty proud of myself!

Clean Cookies
My clean “cookies” were pretty tasty!  I knew that I would be fighting my sweet tooth tonight (and probably for the first few days) so I whipped together the following:
3 bananas
2 cups quick oats
¼ cup applesauce
¼ cup almond milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon

*Once my cleanse is over, I’d probably add just a few chocolate chips J

I also logged every bite into My Fitness Pal today. With the calories “earned” from the run, I am calling it a night with 634 calories remaining!   I’m going to do my best to document my progress over the next 24 days. I’m also going to avoid the scale until I’m supposed to on Day 11.

My little guy asked tonight why I wasn't drinking my green juice that I drink every day. This was hard to answer because I didn't want to say I was on a diet. I also have stressed how healthy our daily green juice is. So needless to say...I didn't have an answer for him. I did miss my juice today! I could probably still have it, but wanted to stick to the cleanse plan as closely as I can. I think it's just the jumpstart I need to get out of the funk I've been in lately.

Today was a very successful day. I may even feel skinnier already! One down…23 to go!
